How I Want to Style The Farm’s New Reclaimed Window Greenhouse For Fall

11.08.26 | Victoria | No Comments

Here on the farm we have been BUSY dreaming (and now executing) a cool AF farm store/event greenhouse tucked along the side of our flower fields. Its a multi-purpose structure that will help us scale and improve our farm exponentially!

The right half of the building is going to be our farm store. It’s where guests will check in for events and UPicks, purchase tickets, pay for their pumpkins and Christmas trees, and so much more. We hope to expand our offerings next season by having grab-n-go bouquets, fresh produce, as well as products made by other local businesses.

The left half of the structure is going to be our reclaimed window greenhouse! I’ve been collecting old house windows since before we even lived here. I wanted to build a lean-to greenhouse off the back of our previous home, and when that didn’t pan out… I began planning for this. To be able to build our dream structure after only 3 years (4 growing seasons) is an UNREAL privilege.

Our vision for this structure has always been for it to look like its been part of the landscape forever. We didn’t want anything sleek or overly modern. As much as I love an all black moment, there will be no black on the building. The siding will be cedar shake shingles with differing finishes. Some will have straight edges, and some will be scalloped – almost as if we salvaged them from different projects and blended them all together. The windows have been slowly reclaimed from homes across the state over a period of about 5 years. The tables and shelves being used in the store are all Facebook Marketplace finds. We feel very strongly that the more we collect pieces for the structure, the more authentic it will be in the end.

Spooky Season is Upon Us…

We are looking at an estimated early September completion date, which means it will be done just in time for Autumn/ Spooky Season!!! The moment I found out we would have a storefront this calendar year, it was game on for planning the seasonal decor. Of course there are limits to what can be collected, thrifted, and reclaimed. This is where mood boards come in. I love visualizing things; it really helps me stay on track and not lose the plot when it comes to sourcing the products for the vision. I’d rather spend a little more money one time than need to replace things every season. If that means it takes a few years to gather everything we need, then so be it.

My vision for the storefront is forest witch vibes. I want glowing lights everywhere. All of our heirloom pumpkins arranged outside for people to wander through and find the perfect one for their jack-o-lantern or porch display. Maybe a little headstone here and there. In a perfect world I’d have constantly bubbling cauldrons and animated things, but alas, I am not Disney World (yet).

I cannot wait to bring this vision to life! Its been such a labor of love building this by ourselves, and I hope that when we finally get to invite guests to the grand opening, it conveys all the effort we’ve put in to it.

If you’re in the market to style your own space like a true forest witch, I’ve put together all the links for my inspo and IRL shopping list. You can check it out here!
